Brooker Travel was established in 1985 by travel industry identity Bruce Brooker. Our head office has been located in the Edinburgh Way block in Dunedin, on the edge of the University of Otago Campus, ever since.

In 1988 Andrew and Karen Carmody entered the business as junior partners before subsequently taking up a full shareholding in 1991. During the following years, the business diversified with specialised Leisure and Corporate travel divisions. By the late 1990’s, Brooker's was in full expansion mode with the acquisition of several local agencies.

In 2003, Brooker Travel expanded into the Wellington market, followed by Queenstown in 2008 with the opening of our store at 5 Mile. Trading now under the helloworld franchise, Brooker's added 2 more locations, Kilbirnie and Auckland CBD to it's portfolio..

Like many in the industry, the Covid madness period of 2020 through 2022 was the most challenging time in over 35 years in business. In spite of the closed borders, Brooker Travel committed to keeping our doors open supporting both our staff and clients.

As we approach our 40th year in business we embark on one of our most exciting era's in the company's history. The launch of our own Brooker Travel Brand, a move into the online space for our leisure and corporate customers, a restructure of locations with the Auckland CBD office re-locating to Albany on the North Shore, and Kilbirnie giving way to our first Canterbury outlet in Rangiora, culminating in a truly nationwide network where customers can deal with us when they want, how they want.

Brooker Travel will continue to evolve, continue to be a market leader, continue to innovate and bring new solutions that meet customer needs. But most importantly, we will continue to put the travelling public and our people at the forefront of why we do what we do.
